Spring is officially here and all of us at Weichert, REALTORS®-The Sumner Group have put together a list of 7 fun activities to do in Savannah in the month of April.

1. South Pacific – Sunday, April 1st

Based on the 2008 Tony Award winning Lincoln Center Theater production, this version of Roger and Hammerstein’s South Pacific is breathtaking! Considered by many to be the best musical ever written, South Pacific is a romantic story set on a tropical island during World War II. The musical tells the story of two young couples who find their happiness threatened by war and their own prejudices. The musical score includes songs such as “This Nearly Was Mine”, “There is Nothin’ Like a Dame”, and “Some Enchanted Evening”. The story is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book “Tales of the South Pacific” by James Michener.

2. Sand Gnats Games – April 5th-August 26th

It’s Savannah Sand Gnats season! First game is April 5th at 7:05pm at the Historic Grayson Stadium at Daffin Park. Enjoy an evening at the ballpark with family and friends to cheer on the Sand Gnats.

Tickets are $7 for General Admission Seating, $8 for Reserved Seating, $10 for Box Seating and $5 for Seniors, Military and Children Ages 4-12. For more info call 912.351.9150 or visit their website.

3. First Friday Oyster Roast and Fireworks – Friday, April 6th

Come to the Westin Savannah Harbor for an evening of food and celebration by the river on the first Friday of each month. Enjoy tasty grill items, live music, a full bar, s’mores by the firepit and buckets of fresh oysters in this relaxed resort setting. Admission is free, parking validated with purchase.

4. A Taste of Rug Hooking – Saturday, April 7th

Savannah’s Fiber Guild offers a class on Traditional Rug Hooking taught by accredited, third generation teacher Katie Puckett on how to hook your own ornament or coaster in this Taste of Rug Hooking workshop. The class will take place at Oatland Island Wildlife Center and participants will be able to choose from several designs that will be made with 100% hand-dyed wool on a cotton backing.

The workshop costs $25 plus $10 for materials and runs from 1pm-4pm Saturday, April 7th. For more info call 912.395.1509.

5. Easter Brunch Cruise – Sunday, April 8th

Looking for a unique way to celebrate Easter this year? Take a cruise on a riverboat on the Savannah River for Easter Sunday Brunch. Enjoy a variety of delicious breakfast and lunch entrees as you take in the sights and sounds of historic Savannah. After brunch kids can meet the Easter Bunny and explore the boat while on the Easter Egg Hunt.

6. Tybee Arts Association Show and Sale – April 13th-15th

Held at the Firehouse Arts Center, this is the one year anniversary of the Show and Sale and the Tybee Arts Association invites everyone to come celebrate. There will be glass art, paintings, photography, sculpture, prints, fiber art, mosaics, music, notecards, quilts, jewelry and art demonstrations on display by local artist members of the Tybee Arts Association. There will also be a special juried exhibit based around the theme of “Thirst”.

Admission is Free and times are Friday: 6pm-9pm, Saturday: 10am-6pm and Sunday: 10am-5pm. For more info visit their website.

7. Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf – April 16th-22nd

Come watch this highly anticipated sporting event on the greens of The Club at Savannah Harbor Golf Resort. Watch golf’s greatest legends play the Champions Tour’s popular two-man team event. Admission is from $15 to $75. For more info visit their website.
